Joel E. Schlifer, 34, of La Crosse passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010.  He was born in La Crosse on November 10, 1975 to Douglas and Susan (Sebranek) Schlifer.  On May 26, 2006 he married Lisa Yang in La Crosse.
Joel was an excellent drummer and loved music.  He enjoyed sports and will be most remembered for the love of his daughter, Natalie who was his everything.  He will be missed by his many friends.
Joel is survived by his wife, Lisa; a daughter, Natalie; his mother, Susan (Michael) McDowell of Bangor; his father, Douglas (Peggy) Schlifer of La Crosse; two sisters, Amie (Dan) Reit of Arcadia and Laura Schlifer of Minneapolis; a brother, Brian Maringer of Onalaska; his paternal grandmother, Elaine Schlifer; a sister-in-law, Jenny Vue; three brothers-in-law, David Yang, Joshua Vue, and Eli Strittmater; an uncle, Greg Schlifer; an aunt, Inez Tschumper; two nephews, Charlie Reit, and Ethan Maringer; and a niece, Sky Reit.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Dickinson Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 1425 Jackson Street, La Crosse.  The Reverend Dennis Johnson will officiate and burial will take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred.
