


Obituary for Donald Pedretti
Donald V. Pedretti , age 77 of Holmen, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2010, surrounded by family. Donald was born to Alois and May (Venner) Pedretti in Genoa, Wisconsin on February 17, 1933. He was joined in marriage on August 4, 1956 to Therese Rutz at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse.
Donald and Therese have been on the family farm in the town of Holland since 1963, when they moved from Viroqua. Don retired from farming full-time four years ago. He received numerous Dairy Herd Awards and was a member of the La Crosse County Farm Bureau. Don was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Holmen and has served on the Father John Rossiter Council 9385 Knights of Columbus at St. Elizabeth. Although free time was hard to find, Donald filled it by cheering for the Brewers and Packers and filling his role of quality control inspector in Therese’s Kitchen. Following retirement, Don could be found spending time with family playing Scrabble. As he said many times, this “paragon of patience” is now with the angels.
Donald is survived by his wife, his daughters, Ann (Steve) Gardner of Wauwatosa. WI, Julie Pedretti (David Buckley) of Milwaukee, Deb Pedretti of Menomonee Falls, WI, Barb (Gary) Spangler of Holmen, Marilyn Pedretti of Holmen, Cathy (Mark) Witte of Holmen, and Alice Pedretti (Brian Beining) of Green Bay, his son, Jerome (Lynette) Pedretti of Holmen, sister, Ruth (Herb) Kiefer of Taopi, MN, brother Patrick (Patricia) Pedretti of Holmen, and 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Therese Fitzpatrick and Sister Therese Marie Pedretti FSPA, and brothers, Carl and Francis Pedretti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Holmen. Friends and Family are invited to a visitation on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time services. Co-Celebrating the mass will be Father Robert Schaller and Father Del Malin. Following mass, burial will be at Greenmound Cemetery in Holmen and a memorial gathering will follow burial at the Holland Town Hall on McHugh Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Holmen Knights of Columbus.
