


Obituary for Shirley E. Haley
Shirley E. Haley, 87, of La Crosse passed away Monday, April 3, 2010 at St. Joseph Rehab Center. She was born in La Crosse on July 21, 1922 to LeRoy and Enola (Crossett) Fuller. She attended Hogan Elementary and Central High Schools, graduating in 1940. After two years of college she changed schools becoming a dental technician and bookkeeper. She worked in that capacity for D.O.Dental Laboratory in La Crosse for over forty years.
On October 12, 1946 Shirley married Sam Haley of Okemah, OK. and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1996.
Shirley was active in her church, delivered mobil meals to the shut in for over thirty years and also assisted with the La Crosse Red Cross blood drives for many years. She enjoyed many friends, traveling, fishing, bowling, and playing cards.
She is survived by her son, Thomas (Aleshia) Haley of Lancaster, PA; one grandson, Sean; and one granddaughter, Mara both of Arizona and a good friend, Joan Doescher, as well as many other friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dr. Harlan (Bussy) and a sister Marjorie.
Shirley was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010 at English Lutheran Church, 1509 King Street, La Crosse. The Reverends Duane Baardseth and Mark Solyst will officiate and burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
The Dickinson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be given to English Lutheran Church or a charity of donor's choice.
