Delores (Rinkie) M. Genz, 81, of La Crosse passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.  She was born September 26, 1928 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Lydia (Vonderohe) and William Rinkel.  The family moved to LaCrescent, MN where Rinkie was raised.  She graduated from Central High School in La Crosse.  While at the Avalon Ballroom she met her soul mate Fred.  Delores married Frederick I. Genz in La Crosse on February 24, 1950.  They were married 57 years and raised four children on the northside of La Crosse.  Rinkie was a homemaker who loved to bake.  She loved her flower gardens and enjoyed ceramics.  She looked forward to seeing her friends at Ladies Aid, Card Club and her Birthday Club.  Delores was a long time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Frederick W. (Stephanie) Genz, Michael (Cynthia) Genz, Lori Genz and Julie (Brent) Miner, grandchildren, Amy (David) Delimat, Benjamin (Erin) Genz, Michael Genz Jr., Shannon Genz, Joshua (Rachel) Genz and Sophie Miner and great grandchildren, Abrianna, James, Jansen, Sawyer and Samuel.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Carol (Donald) Blank, Ann Genz, Marilyn (Howard) Mahlum, brother-in-law, Richard Genz and many nieces nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, her husband, Fred, in 2007, her brother, Harold, brothers-in-law, Robert, Orville, Donald and a sister-in-law, Katherene.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1201 Avon Street La Crosse.  The Reverend Mark Rieke will officiate.  Friends and family may call the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.
