Obituary for Ramon "Ray" Prieur

Ramon “Ray” F. Prieur, 83, of Onalaska died peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2010 at his home.  He was born in Onalaska on February 13, 1927 to George and Mathilda (Betz) Prieur.  He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior on March 13, 1949 and lived to prove his faith in Christ.
Ramon served in the Navy during WWII.  He was an electrician by trade, working for Onalaska Electric and then Omark-Outers until his retirement in 1992. 
On June 12, 1948, he married Rhea Elaine Olson.  They celebrated over 61 years of marriage and his bride and children were the joy of his life. 
Survivors include his loving wife, Rhea E. (Olson) Prieur; children, Eunice (Chris) Christensen; Pamela (David) Eilertson; Rebecca (Cal) Erickson; Jacqueline (Dave) Osborne; Lawrence (Anita) Prieur; Lynette (Bee) Prieur Lo; Heidi (Spencer Scott) Prieur; and Karen Cady; grandchildren, Jeremy Erickson; Shanna Erickson; Sarah Osborne; Caleb Erickson; and Laura Osborne; great-granddaughter, Rhiannon Prieur Scott; great-grandson, Isaiah Scott McGinnis;  sister, Joyce Poellinger; brother, Dick (Mary) Prieur; sister-in-law, Marge Prieur; special nephew, Knute “Skip” (Carol) Temte; sisters-in-law, Viola (Fred) Hicke; Darlene (Stan) Bunke; Lois (Ron) Martinmaki; and brother-in-law, Howard (Joyce) Olson. 
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Ramon George; sisters, Arietta (Richard)Kempter; Jacqueline Prieur; LaVonne (Ken) Williams; Delphine (William) Johnson; Mona (Edward) Priebe; brothers, C. Eugene“Gene”; Westal “Bud”; and Robert;  and brother-in-law, Donald “Butch” Poellinger.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010 at Dickinson Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 401 Main Street, Onalaska.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18 from 4-7 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.     Officiating will be sons-in-law, David Osborne and Cal Erickson and nephew Paul Aspenson.  Internment at Onalaska Cemetery will directly follow the funeral service.
