


Obituary for Helen Louise Stingl
Helen Louise Stingl, 97, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Sterling House in Onalaska. She was born in La Crosse on October 23, 1912 to Charles and Olga (Dobbratz) Koplin. Helen attended the La Crosse Vocational School and it is there where she met the love of her life, Wilbur Stingl. She married Wilbur "Bill" Stingl on June 23, 1934 and he preceded her in death in March of 1994. Together they enjoyed traveling and gardening. Helen worked as a seamstress at the La Crosse Garment Company for over forty years until her retirement. She loved to cook and bake and was always looking for new recipes. Helen lived most of her life on Redfield Street in La Crosse but spent the last two years at the Sterling House in Onalaska where she enjoyed her time greatly. She was a life long member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Ron (Mary) Stingl of Onalaska, three grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Stingl, Jeff Stingl and Colleen (Michael) Reimer, nine great-grandchildren, Thomas Reisner, Hunter and Olivya Stingl, Dustin, Jessica and Garret Stingl, Connor, Mitchell and Gracie Reimer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Evelyn G. (Worst) Unnasch, a brother, Arthur Koplin and an infant brother, sisters-in-law, Jennie Koplin, Violet Geary, Rose Stingl, Carrie Stingl and Thelma Stingl, brothers-in-law, William Worst, Ernest Unnasch, Lloyd Stingl, Clarence Stingl, Lenard Stingl and Earnest Geary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 1425 Jackson Street. The Reverend Richard Pamperin will officiate and entombment will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 West Avenue South.
