Obituary for Vernon W. Schrader
Vernon W. Schrader, 86, of La Crosse passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hillview Health Care Center.
He was in La Crosse on October 1, 1923 to Walter and Minnie (Priebe) Schrader. Vernon served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
On June 17, 1942 he married Jean Allen in La Crosse and she preceded him in death on January 25, 1999.
Vernon enjoyed woodworking and was an avid outdoors man, who loved to fish and hunt.
Vernon is survived by three sons, Larry (Barbara) Schrader of La Crosse, Michael (fiance, Janis Sherwood) Schrader, and Tom Schrader both of Onalaska; a daughter,
Cindy Schrader of La Crosse; a very close friend, Terry Krueger of Onalaska; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Daniels of La Crosse;
and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Jean, he was preceded in death by is parents; a sister, Ruth Hausewirth; and three brothers, Roland, Harvey, and Willard Schrader.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at English Lutheran Church, 1509 King Street, La Crosse.
The Reverend Duane Baardseth will officiate and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home,
809 Gillette Street, La Crosse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
