Helen "Nelle" Ducharme, 95, of La Crosse, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Hillview Healthcare Center.  She was born on January 26, 1915 to Thomas and Helen (Snyder) Gurran.  Nelle married Leonard Ducharme in Mobile, Alabama on July 4, 1942 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1990.
Nelle was a long time member of the La Crosse Country Club.  She was an avid golfer and tennis player and thoroughly enjoyed playing Gin Rummy.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Ducharme of Maryland and David (Julie) Ducharme of De Forest, WI.  Nelle is also survived by two grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Anderson and Rebeca Ducharme both of Madison and one great-grandchild, Samuel Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, her parents and a brother, Thomas Gurran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral Marion Chapel, 530 Main Street.  The Reverend Michael Gorman will officiate and entombment will be in Catholic Cemetery St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum.  Friends may call the church on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. until time of services.  The Dickinson Sletten McKee Hanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
