As only an acquaintance with Joel, I was affected by his great personality, and I looked forward to seeing him during my work day. See, I work at the post office, and saw him often during the week. He shared his affinity of cigars with me, and it was always fun to "smell" what he was shipping that day. I will miss him, and my condolences to his family.

Joel was a great friend and just a wonderful person. Out of the multitudes of people I know, Joel was someone that stood apart. His humor, wit, empathy, artistic nature, and his love inspired me to be a better person. He was someone that I truly loved and I love very few. He will always be with me.

Joel was a great friend and roommate. One of the most generous souls I've ever met. His sense of humor could always lift your spirits, and it was truly relaxing to be around him. I will carry fond memories of us having good times, grabbing Pizza King take-out and playing Boggle together. A talented, intelligent and honest man, you will be greatly missed. My sympathies go out to Joel's family and friends.

Joel was my childhood friend. When I think back through elementary school to my early twenties, he was a part of my life. We were good friends, who, as often times happens, lost touch. I carried him on with me in my adult life, thought of him often. His kindness, his smile, his infectious laugh, and his generous and gentle nature left an indelible mark on my heart. I loved him and his brother Brian growing up. I continue to love them both to this day. Joel was a wonderful man and his absence from this world is felt deeply, of that I am certain. My love and condolences go out to all of Joel's family.

Dear Peggy and Family---I am so terribly sorry and offer you my deepest and heartfelt sympathy. My children were childhood friends as we lived on the same street! As an adult, everyone on Pearl and Main Street knew him and loved him---there were many sad and lost faces Friday in our businesses as the word spread amongst us! Know his life made a great impression on those who knew and loved him!!

I am one of Natalie's teacher's at her daycare. I go to school full time and only worked a few hours a week prior to summer. Her smile and laugh infected me instantly once I started back full time this summer. She is always so excited to see me and my son Joey when we get there in the morning and her personality is amazing and so energy filled!! My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa's family as well as Joel's family at this difficult time.....
